CEIR Announces 2019 First Quarter Results

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reports that the recent growth of the exhibition industry continued during the first quarter of 2019. The CEIR Total Index, a measure of exhibition industry performance, posted a decent year-over-year gain of 1.8% (see Figure 1) even though it under-performed the inflation-adjusted GDP (see Figure 2).

CEIR Announces 2018 Third Quarter Index Results

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reports that the recent growth of the exhibition industry continued during the third quarter of 2018. The performance of the industry, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a modest year-over-year gain of 1.0% (see Figure 1), even though it underperformed the macroeconomy (see Figure 2).

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reports that the recent growth of the exhibition industry continued during the second quarter of 2018. The performance of the industry, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a moderate year-over-year gain of 1.6% (see Figure 1), even though it underperformed the macroeconomy (see Figure 2).

CEIR Announces 2017 Fourth Quarter Index Results

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reports that growth of the exhibition industry during the fourth quarter of 2017 resumed after a temporary setback in the third quarter. The performance of the industry, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a strong year-on-year gain of 3.1% (see Figure 1). Despite displaying somewhat greater volatility, exhibitions are keeping pace with the macroeconomy (see Figure 2).

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reports that performance of the exhibition industry in the third quarter of 2017, down 0.7% from a year ago, was impacted by factors related to several large exhibitions in the Consumer Goods and Retail Trade (CG) and Sporting Goods, Travel, and Amusement (ST) sectors.

CEIR Announces 2016 Fourth Quarter Index Results

The Center for Industry Research (CEIR) reports that growth of the exhibition industry during the fourth quarter of 2016 declined. The performance of the industry, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a first modest year-on-year decline of 0.4% (see Figure 1), after 25 consecutive quarters of year-on-year growth. The industry has underperformed the macroeconomy (see Figure 2).

CEIR Index Results Released for the Second Quarter of 2016

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) has released CEIR Index results for this year’s second quarter. Reflecting a sluggish macro economy and declining corporate profits, growth for the business-to-business exhibition industry during the second quarter of 2016 has slowed. The industry’s performance, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a modest  year-on-year gain of 1.6% in 2016Q2 (see Figure 1), compared to 3.7% in the fourth quarter of 2015 and 2.6% in the first quarter of 2016.

CEIR Index Results Released for the First Quarter of 2016

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) has released CEIR Index results for this year’s first quarter. Despite a sluggish macroeconomy, the strong growth momentum of the business-to-business exhibition industry during 2015 has carried into the first quarter of 2016. The performance of the industry, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a relatively strong year-on-year gain of 2.6% in the first quarter (see Figure 1). It marked the 23rd consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth.
