Description:     The CEIR Index is a proven tool for exhibition organizers. Utilizing the Index, an organizer can compare how particular show data compares to others in the same industry sector. The fifth annual CEIR Index report provides exhibition industry performance data for 11 key industry sectors. A new contributor this year is the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Travel & Tourism Industry Center at the University of South Carolina, which provided economic analysis for the Index. Other contributors to the Index this year are: The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. (JEGI) as title sponsor, Trade Show Executive magazine as publishing sponsor, Veris Consulting, LLC, American Business Media (ABM), the Exhibition Industry Foundation (EIF), the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and The Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO). The CEIR Index measures *Net Sq Ft of Exhibit Space Sold, *Professional Attendees, *Exhibiting Companies and *Total Event Gross Revenue in aggregate 'year over year changes' format from data provided from over 300 events and placed into 11 sectors. The 'year over year changes' were translated into an 'index value,' using a base value of 100 in the base year 2000. This fifth edition of the CEIR Index displays and analyzes data from 2000-2007. The index does not include any event identifiable data as all information was gathered by a third party to ensure confidentiality.
