CEIR Blog Provides Understanding of Key Exhibitors, Market Leaders
A Place to Find and Share Thoughts and Ideas

DALLAS, 20 November 2007 - The buzz created across the exhibitions and events industry from the publication earlier this year of Managing the Special Needs of Key Exhibitors and Market Leaders by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), through a grant from the Professional Convention Management Association Education Foundation, has been astounding.

In response to multiple requests for continuing information on the subject, CEIR has established a Blog at www.ceir.org/blog. The Blog will serve as a place where exhibition organizers, exhibitors and others, can exchange thoughts and practices that are designed to better understand the role that key exhibitors play in the universe of exhibitions. It is a place where case study-type experiences can be shared, critiqued, commented upon and catalogued.

2008 IAEE Chairman Randy Bauler, CEM, corporate relations & exhibits director for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, will host the Blog. Bloggers are encouraged to contribute their experiences on the subject, particularly in terms of:

  • The Preventive Process - The proper care and feeding of key exhibitors

  • Responding effectively to requests/demands of key exhibitors

  • How organizers can cope with the loss of key exhibitors

Coincident with the release of the document, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) dedicated its Senior Executives Roundtable, held in July 2007, to the topic. A series of panels provided case study experiences to supplement the rich resources contained within the white paper. At the conclusion of the Roundtable, several attendees suggested that CEIR sponsor a Blog site to enable more input and continuing discussion among practitioners who wish to build upon the knowledge about this key subject.

In October, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) sponsored a Web-based seminar on the topic, again, to accolades and record-setting attendance.

Visit www.ceir.org to obtain a copy of Managing the Special Needs of Key Exhibitors and Market Leaders. It is free to members of CEIR, IAEE and PCMA; the non-member price is $160 (USD).
