CEIR Releases New Report: Generational Differences in Face-to-Face Interaction Preferences and Activities
DALLAS, 7 May, 2013 – Today, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) issued a report from The Role and Value of Face-to-Face Interaction Study Series titled Generational Differences in Face-to-Face Interaction Preferences and Activities. Generational research is a hot topic in light of the forthcoming, massive generational shift in the workforce. In 2015, it is expected that Millennials will overtake Boomers as the larger portion of the workforce. As Boomers begin exiting to retirement, Millennials will share ranks with Traditionalists, Boomers and Gen Xers. (more)
2012 CEIR Index Results Released
DALLAS, 8 April 2013 – The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) released the CEIR Index Report, an Analysis of the 2012 Exhibition Industry and Future Outlook today at the SISO CEO Summit. Overall the industry showed growth of 1.5 percent but unfortunately fell short of its optimistic forecast for the year. The outlook for growth in 2013 is not substantial, however, significant pick-up is expected for 2014 and 2015 with positive and accelerated growth over the long term. (more)
New CEIR Report Offers Up-to-Date Insights on Attracting Attendees to Exhibitions

Fourth Quarter CEIR Index Results Show Slower Growth for Industry Overall
DALLAS, 19 March 2013 – Today, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) has released year-end results for the CEIR Index. After an encouraging, first-half with growth near 2.4 percent and tracking to meet the 2.9 percent projection, performance in the second half of 2012 declined. The cooling that was reflected in the third quarter continued into the fourth quarter with the CEIR Index for the overall exhibition industry finishing at 1.5 percent growth for the year, lagging behind the revised government GDP estimate of 2.2 percent. CEIR Releases New Guru Report on the Merits of Using Measurement to Enhance Decisions and Improve Results, Going Beyond ROI and ROO
DALLAS, 22 January 2013 – Today the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) announces a new Guru Report, Beyond ROI and ROO: Using Measurement to Enhance Decisions and Improve Exhibit Results, written by Joe Federbush, Exhibit Survey’s vice president, Sales and Marketing. The report advocates using an integrated approach to defining, implementing and monitoring performance of exhibition programs that provides actionable feedback to improve future performance. Exhibition Industry Foundation Becomes the Center for Exhibition Industry Research Foundation
ORLANDO, 5 December 2012 – Today, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) announced that the current Exhibition Industry Foundation will transition to become known as the CEIR Foundation effective 1 January 2013. The boards of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE), the Exhibition Industry Foundation (EIF), and CEIR met earlier this year to review the exhibitions and events industry’s foundation, EIF, and explore a transition into the CEIR Foundation. Through collaboration and collective agreement, this new structure will create a direct link to funding that will better enable CEIR to achieve its goals of delivering education and research to better serve the members of the exhibitions and events industry. CEIR Third Quarter Index Results Show Slower Growth for Industry Overall
DALLAS, 30 November 2012 – Today, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) announces that data collected for the third quarter CEIR Index reveals that the Total Index increased by only 0.9% percent. While the exhibition industry in the first quarter 2012 outperformed the real GDP, survey data for the second and third quarters shows that growth has decelerated. Additionally, all four key metrics showed slower year-on-year growth in the third quarter, compared to first and second quarter of this year. (more)
